withoutencounteringhardwareproblems.
Startingthebackupserverrmware
Thesystemboardcontainsabackupcopyareafortheserverrmware.Thisisasecondarycopyofthe
serverrmwarethatyouupdateonlyduringtheprocessofupdatingtheserverrmware.Iftheprimarycopy
oftheserverrmwarebecomesdamaged,usethisbackupcopy.
Toforcetheservertostartfromthebackupcopy,turnofftheserver;then,placetheJP6jumperinthe
backupposition(pins2and3).
Usethebackupcopyoftheserverrmwareuntiltheprimarycopyisrestored.Aftertheprimarycopyis
restored,turnofftheserver;then,movetheJP6jumperbacktotheprimaryposition(pins1and2).
RecoveringtheUEFIrmware
IftheUEFIrmwarehasbecomedamaged,suchasfromapowerfailureduringanupdate,youcanrecover
theUEFIrmwareusingthebootblockjumperandaUEFIrecoverydiskette.
Thesystemboardcontainsabackupcopyareafortheserverrmware.Thisisasecondarycopyofthe
serverrmwarethatyouupdateonlyduringtheprocessofupdatingtheserverrmware.Iftheprimarycopy
oftheserverrmwarebecomesdamaged,usethisbackupcopy.
Toforcetheservertostartfromthebackupcopy,turnofftheserver;then,placejumperJP6inthebackup
position(pins2and3).
•Pins1and2:BootfromprimaryBIOSpage(default).
•Pins2and3:BootfrombackupBIOSpage.
Usethebackupcopyoftheserverrmwareuntiltheprimarycopyisrestored.Aftertheprimarycopyis
restored,turnofftheserver;then,movejumperJP6backtotheprimaryposition(pins1and2).
