Theashmemoryoftheserverconsistsofaprimarybankandabackupbank.Itisessentialthatyou
maintainthebackupbankwithabootablermwareimage.Iftheprimarybankbecomescorrupted,youcan
eithermanuallybootthebackupbankwiththebootblockjumper,orinthecaseofimagecorruption,this
willoccurautomaticallywiththeAutomatedBootRecoveryfunction.
In-bandmanualrecoverymethod
Torecovertheserverrmwareandrestoretheserveroperationtotheprimarybank,completethefollowing
steps:
Step1.Turnofftheserver,anddisconnectallpowercordsandexternalcables.
Step2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingandinstallingthecover”onpage119formore
information.
Step3.LocatetheUEFIbootrecoveryjumperblock(JP6)onthesystemboard.

jumper (JP1)
Step4.Movethejumperfrompins1and2topins2and3toenabletheUEFIrecoverymode.
Step5.Reinstalltheservercover;then,reconnectallpowercords.
Step6.Restarttheserver.Thepower-onself-test(POST)starts.
