AsupervisorpasswordprotectsthesysteminformationstoredintheThinkPadSetup.Theusermustenter
thesupervisorpasswordinordertogetaccesstotheThinkPadSetupandchangethesystemconfiguration.
Attention:Ifthesupervisorpasswordhasbeenforgottenandcannotbemadeavailabletotheservice
technician,thereisnoserviceproceduretoresetthepassword.Thesystemboardmustbereplacedfor
ascheduledfee.

Toremoveapower-onpassword,dothefollowing:

1.T urnoffthecomputer.
2.Removethebatterypack.Forinstructionsonhowtoremovethebatterypack,see“1010Battery

3.Removethecoin-cellbattery.Forinstructionsonhowtoremovethecoin-cellbattery,see“1100
Coin-cellbattery”onpage67.Waitforafewseconds.
4.Reinstallthecoin-cellbattery.Forinstructionsonhowtoinstallthecoin-cellbattery,see“1100Coin-cell
