ReadthefollowinginstructionsfirstbeforereplacingthecolorsensorforThinkPadW540models.
•Iftheharddiskdriveisnotdefective,andonlythecolorsensorneedsareplacement:
1.Replacethecolorsensor.
2.Afteryoureplacethecolorsensor,startthecomputerandruntheSensorReplacementUtilityprogramby
clickingStart➙AllPrograms➙X-Rite➙PANTONEColorCalibrator➙SensorReplacementUtility.
3.Ifyoudonothaveaccesstotheharddiskdrive,providethecustomerwithinformationonhowtorunthe
SensorReplacementUtility.
•Ifboththeharddiskdriveandthecolorsensorneedreplacements:
1.Beforeyoureplacethecolorsensor,backupthecolorsensorcalibrationprofileECCM2SensorData.dattoan
externalmediadevicefromthedirectoryC:\ProgramData\X-Rite\ECCM-2.Thiscalibrationprofileisgenerated
afteryouusethecolorsensorforthefirsttime.
2.Ifyouareunabletobackupthecolorsensorcalibrationprofile,andifnoproblemwasreportedwiththe
colorsensor,proceedtoreplacethecolorsensor.
3.Replacetheharddiskdrive.See“1040Harddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive”onpage60.Thenreloadthe
operatingsystem.
