ACpoweradapterproblems

•Problem:Theacpoweradapterisconnectedtothecomputerandtheworkingelectricaloutlet,butthe

poweradapter(powerplug)iconisnotdisplayedinthetaskbar.Alsotheacpowerindicatordoes

notlightup.

Solution:Doasfollows:

1.Makesurethattheconnectionoftheacpoweradapteriscorrect.Forconnectingtheacpower

adapter,seetheSetupInstructionsmanualincludedintheshippingcontentsofyourcomputer.

2.Iftheabovestepiscorrect,turnoffthecomputer,thendisconnecttheacpoweradapter.

3.Reconnecttheacpoweradapter,thenturnonthecomputer.

4.Ifthepoweradaptericonstilldoesnotappearonthetaskbarandtheacpowerindicatordoesnot

lightup,havetheacpoweradapterandyourcomputerserviced.

Showhiddeniconsinthetaskbar.

Powerproblems

Printtheseinstructionsnowandkeepitwithyourcomputerforreferencelater.

Ifyourcomputerisgettingnopoweratall,checkthefollowingitems:

1.Verifythepowerswitch.Referto“System-statusindicators”onpage10.Thepowerswitchis

illuminatedwheneverthecomputerison.

2.Checkallpowerconnections.Removeanypowerstripsandsurgeprotectorstoconnecttheacpower

adapterdirectlytotheacpoweroutlet.

3.Inspecttheacpoweradapter.Checkforanyphysicaldamage,andmakesurethatthepowercableis

rmlyattachedtotheadapterbrickandthecomputer.

4.Verifytheacpowersourceisworkingbyattachinganotherdevicetotheoutlet.

5.Removealldevicesandthentestforsystempowerwithminimaldevicesattached.

a.Disconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.

b.Closethecomputerdisplay,andturnthecomputerover.

c.Removethememory(SO-DIMM).Referto“Replacingmemory”onpage84.

d.RemovethePCIExpressMiniCard.Referto“InstallingandreplacingthePCIExpressMiniCardfor

wirelessLAN/WiMAXconnection”onpage88.

e.RemovetheharddiskdriveandmSATAsolidstatedrive.Referto“Replacingthesolidstatedriveor

harddiskdrive”onpage78and“InstallingandreplacingthemSATAsolidstatedrive”onpage86.

f.Waitfor30seconds,andthenreinstalltheSO-DIMMandtheacpoweradaptertotestthecomputer

withminimaldevicesattachedrst.

g.Reinstalleachdeviceoneatatimethatyouhaveremovedintheearliersteps.

Ifyourcomputerdoesnotrunonbatterypower,checkthefollowing:

Verifythebattery-statusindicator.Referto“Power-statusindicators”onpage11.

Thebattery-statusindicatorisnormallyilluminatedwheneverthecomputerison,ortheacpoweradapteris

connectedandthebatteryischarging.Thisindicatormaybeblinkingorsolidineitherorangeorgreencolor

dependingonthestatusofthebattery.

Apowerbuttonproblem

•Problem:Thesystemdoesnotrespond,andyoucannotturnoffthecomputer.
