Tochangethecomputerstartupsettings,selectStartupfromtheThinkPadSetupmainmenu.
Attention:
Afteryouchangeyourstartupsequence,youmustbeextremelycarefulnottospecifyawrongdevice
duringacopy,asave,oraformatoperation.Ifyouspecifyawrongdevice,yourdataandprograms
mightbeerasedoroverwritten.
IfyouareusingtheBitLockerdriveencryption,youshouldnotchangethestartupsequence.BitLocker
driveencryptiondetectsthechangeofstartupsequenceandlocksthecomputerfrombooting.
Changingthestartupsequence
Tochangethestartupsequence,dothefollowing:
1.SelectBootorNetwork,thenpressEnter.Thedefaultbootlistisdisplayed,showingtheorderinwhich
deviceswillbestartedup.Evendevicesthatarenotattachedtoorinstalledonyourcomputerarelisted.
UsetheBootsubmenutospecifythestartupsequencethatrunswhenyouturnonthepower.
UsetheNetworksubmenutospecifythestartupsequencethatrunswhenWakeonLANisenabled.
WakeonLANiscommonlyusedbyLANadministratorsincorporatenetworkstogetremoteaccess
toyourcomputer.
2.Setthestartupsequencebyusingthefollowingkeys:
Usecursorkeystoselectadevice.
UseF6orthecombinationofShiftand+tomovethedeviceuptoahigherpriority.
UseF5ortomovethedevicedowntoalowerpriority.
UsethecombinationofShiftand!toexcludeorincludeadevice.
3.PressF10tosavethechangesandrestartthesystem.
Tochangethestartupsequencetemporarilysothatthesystemstartsupfromadifferentdrive,dothe
following:
1.Turnoffthecomputer.
