Chapter 7. Replacing hardware

9. Pull the motherboard out of the chassis.

10. Place the new motherboard into the chassis, aligning the screw holes

in the motherboard with the mounting holes in the chassis.

11. Screw the two screws on the new motherboard back in.

12. Install all related components back to the new motherboard.

13. Install the computer cover. Refer to “Completing the installation”.

Replacing the Keyboard and Mouse

To replace the keyboard and mouse:

1. Before removing any media (diskettes, CDs, or memory cards) from

the drives, shut down your operating system, and turn oﬀ all attached

devices and the computer.

2. Unplug all power cables from electrical outlets.

3. Locate the ports for the keyboard and mouse. Refer to “Front view of

the computer” and “Rear view of the computer”.
