Toremoveafrontfan,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage43.
3.Locatethefrontfanthatyouwanttoremove.See“Locatingservercomponents”onpage32.
Note:Iftwomicroprocessorsareinstalledinyourserver,therearetwofrontfans,oneformicroprocessor
1andtheotherformicroprocessor2.
4.Disconnectthefrontfancablefromthefrontfanconnectoronthesystemboard.See“Locatingpartson
thesystemboard”onpage33.
5.Removetheharddiskdrives.See“Removingahot-swapharddiskdrive”onpage57or“Removinga
