1.YourcomputermusthaveaMarvellSASadaptercard(MarvellSAScontroller)installedtocongure

SASRAID.ForinstallingorreplacingaMarvellSASadaptercard,referto“Replacinganadaptercard”

intheThinkStationHardwareInstallationandReplacementGuide.

2.TurnonthecomputerafteryouhaveinstalledtherequirednumberofSASharddiskdrivesandthe

MarvellSASadaptercard.

3.PressCtrl+MwhenpromptedtoentertheMarvellBIOSSetuptocongureSASRAID.

ConguringtheMarvellBIOSSetuptoenableSASRAID0,1,or5

functionality

ToenableSASRAID0,1,or5functionality,usetheMarvellBIOSSetupcongurationutilityastheSAS

congurationutility.Thisutilityassumesthatthesystemhastherequirednumberofharddiskdrives.

1.TurnonyourcomputerandpressCtrl+MwhenpromptedtoentertheMarvellBIOSSetup.

2.OntheMarvellBIOSSetupscreen,usethearrowkeystoselectRAIDCongandpressEnter.The

RAIDCongmenuopens.

3.FromtheRAIDCongmenu,selectCreatearray.

4.UsethearrowkeysandtheEnterkeytoselecteachfreeharddiskdrivethatyouwanttoinclude

inthearray.

5.SelectNextandpressEnter.

6.FromtheCreatearraymenu,selectRAIDlevelandpressEnter.

Note:OnlythevalidRAIDlevelswillbeactive.

7.SelecttheSASRAIDlevelyouwant(RAID0,RAID1,orRAID5)andpressEnter.

8.FromtheStripesizemenu,youcanchangethestripesizeorkeepitasdefault.

9.TypeaproperarraynameintheArraynameeld.

10.SelectNextandpressEnter.Whenprompted,pressYtocompletethearraycreationandRAID

conguration.
