Conﬁguring the hard disk drive

Adding a hard disk drive

The system supports up to four 3.5-inch hot-swappable SATA hard disk drives.

Warning:

• The ﬁrst hard drive, located at the bottom of the HDD bay, is not hot-

swappable.

• Use only hard drives provided by Lenovo.

Caution: Hard drives are formatted before they are added to the server storage.

Make sure that you back up any important ﬁles that are on the hard drive

before you add the drive to server storage. Formatting a hard drive deletes all

ﬁles on the hard drive.

1. Install the new HDD to the Home Server.

(1) Open the door of the Home Server.
