inserttheThinkServerEasyStartupDVDintotheopticaldrive.Theinstallationpackagesfortheprograms
arelocatedintheUtilitiesandOthersfolderintherootdirectoryoftheDVD.TheThinkServerEasyStartup
DVDisdesignedfordifferenttypesofserversandtheUtilitiesandOthersfoldermightcontainadditional
installationpackagesthatarenotrequiredtobeinstalledonyourserver.
ConguringtheadvancedSATAorSAShardwareRAID
BeforeconguringRAIDforyourserver,observethefollowingprecautions:
•Useharddiskdrivesthatareofthesametype(SATAorSAS)andhavethesamecapacitywithina
singleRAIDarray.
•Dependingontheoperatingsystem,thetotaldrivecapacityoftheprimaryRAIDmightbelimitedto2TB.

TheRAIDcardprovidestheWebBIOSCongurationUtilityprogramtohelpyoucongureRAID
independentlyoftheoperatingsystem.YoualsocaninstalltheMegaRAIDStorageManagerprogramand
theMegaCLICongurationUtilityprogramtohelpyoumanagetheRAIDarrayandRAIDcontrollerinan
operatingsystemenvironment.
TheinstallationpackagesfortheMegaRAIDStorageManagerprogramandtheMegaCLIConguration
UtilityprogramareontheThinkServerEasyStartupDVD.Afteryouentertheoperatingsystem,insertthe
ThinkServerEasyStartupDVDintotheopticaldrive.Theinstallationpackagesfortheprogramsarelocatedin
theUtilitiesandOthersfolderintherootdirectoryoftheDVD.
Note:TheThinkServerEasyStartupDVDisdesignedfordifferenttypesofserversandtheUtilitiesandOthers
foldermightcontainadditionalinstallationpackagesthatarenotrequiredtobeinstalledonyourserver.

ConguringtheEthernetcontrollers
TheEthernetcontrollersareintegratedonthesystemboard.Theyprovideaninterfaceforconnectingto
a10Mbps,100Mbps,or1000Mbpsnetworkandprovidefull-duplex(FDX)capability,whichenables
simultaneoustransmissionandreceptionofdataonthenetwork.
YoudonothavetosetanyjumpersorconguretheEthernetcontrollers.However,youmustinstalladevice
drivertoenabletheoperatingsystemtorecognizethecontrollers.
TheThinkServerEasyStartupprogramsimpliestheprocessofconguringRAIDandinstallingsupported
