Basictroubleshooting
Thefollowingtableprovidesinformationtohelpyoutroubleshootyourcomputerproblem.
SymptomAction
Thecomputerdoesnotstart
whenyoupressthepower
button.
Verifythat:
•Thepowercordispluggedintotherearofthecomputerandintoaworking
electricaloutlet.
•Ifyourcomputerhasasecondarypowerswitchonthebackofthecomputer,
makesurethatitisswitchedon.
•Thepowerindicatoronthefrontofthecomputerison.
Ifyoucannotcorrecttheproblem,havethecomputerserviced.Refertothesafety
andwarrantyinformationthatisprovidedwithyourcomputerforalistofservice
andsupporttelephonenumbers.
Themonitorscreenisblank.
Verifythat:
•Themonitorcableissecurelyattachedtotherearofthemonitorandtothe
rearofthecomputer.
•Themonitorpowercordispluggedintothemonitorandintoaworkingelectrical
outlet.
•Themonitoristurnedonandthebrightnessandcontrastcontrolsareset
correctly.
•Themonitorsignalcableissecurelyconnectedtothemonitorandtothemonitor
connectoronthecomputer.
Ifyoucannotcorrecttheproblem,havethecomputerserviced.Refertothesafety
andwarrantyinformationthatisprovidedwithyourcomputerforalistofservice
andsupporttelephonenumbers.
Thekeyboarddoesnotwork.
Thecomputerdoesnotrespond
tothekeyboard.
Verifythat:
•Thecomputeristurnedon.
•Themonitoristurnedonandthebrightnessandcontrastcontrolsareset

•Nokeysarestuck.
