Installerenginetoversion3.0.Thisupdatewillcausetheinstallationactiontopromptforarebootevenwith
anadministrativeextractinstallation.Usetherebootproperlytopreventarebootinthissituation.Ifthe
WindowsInstallerisatleastversion3.0,setup.exewillnotattempttoinstall.
Onceanadministrativeinstallationhasbeencompleted,theadministrativeusercanmakecustomizationsto
thesourceles,suchasaddingsettingstotheregistry.
Usingmsiexec.exe
Toinstallfromtheunpackedsourceaftermakingcustomizations,theusercallsmsiexec.exefromthe
commandline,passingthenameoftheunpacked*.MSIle.Themsiexec.exeleistheexecutableprogram
oftheWindowsInstallerusedtointerpretinstallationpackagesandinstallproductsontargetsystems.

lecontainslogmessagesthatcanbeusedtodebuginstallationproblems.Thelogleincludesanyactions
performedbytheAdd/RemoveProgramsappletfromControlPanel.Thelogleisnotcreatedwhenyour
arerunningthesetup.exeledirectlyfromtheMSIpackage.TocreatealogleforallMSIactions,youcan
enabletheloggingpolicyintheregistry.Todothis,createthefollowingvalue:
