ThischapterprovidesanoverviewofClientSecuritySolutionandFingerprintSoftware.Thetechnologies
presentedinthisdeploymentguidecandirectlyandindirectlyhelpITprofessionalsbecausetheyhelpmake
personalcomputerseasiertouse,moreself-sufcient,andprovidepowerfultoolsthatfacilitateandsimplify
rollouts.WiththehelpofThinkVantageTechnologies,ITprofessionalsspendlesstimesolvingindividual

ClientSecuritySolution
TheprimarypurposeofClientSecuritySolutionsoftwareistohelpyouprotectyourcomputerasanasset,
protectcondentialdataonyourcomputer,andprotectnetworkconnectionsaccessedbyyourcomputer.
(ForLenovo-brandedsystemsthatcontainaTrustedComputingGroup(TCG)compliantTrustedPlatform
Module(TPM),ClientSecuritySolutionsoftwarewillleveragethehardwareastherootoftrustforthe
system.Ifthesystemdoesnotcontainanembeddedsecuritychip,ClientSecuritySolutionwillleverage
softwarebasedcryptographickeysastherootoftrustforthesystem.)
