Selectingatemporarystartupdevice

Usethisproceduretostartupfromanystartdevice.

Note:Notalldiscs,harddiskdrives,anddiskettesarebootable.

1.Turnoffyourcomputer.

2.RepeatedlypressandreleasetheF12keywhenturningonthecomputer.WhentheStartupDevice

menuopens,releasetheF12key.

3.SelectthedesiredstartupdevicefromtheStartupDevicemenuandpressEntertobegin.

Note:SelectingastartupdevicefromtheStartupDevicemenudoesnotpermanentlychangethestartup

sequence.

Selectingorchangingthestartupdevicesequence

Tovieworpermanentlychangetheconguredstartupdevicesequence,dothefollowing:

1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage43.

2.SelectStartup®StartupSequence.Seetheinformationdisplayedontherightsideofthescreen.

3.SelectthedevicesforthePrimaryStartupSequence,theAutomaticStartupSequence,andtheError

StartupSequence.

4.SelectExitfromtheSetupUtilitymenuandthenSaveSettingsorSaveandexittheSetupUtility.

Ifyouhavechangedthesesettingsandwanttoreturntothedefaultsettings,selectLoadDefaultSettings

ontheExitmenu.

ExitingfromtheSetupUtilityprogram

Afteryounishviewingorchangingsettings,pressEsctoreturntotheSetupUtilityprogrammenu(you

mighthavetopressEscseveraltimes).Ifyouwanttosavethenewsettings,selectSaveSettingsorSave

andexittheSetupUtility.Otherwise,yourchangeswillnotbesaved.
