4. Remove the plastic fan mount behind the bezel by releasing the retaining tabs

with your fingers and sliding the fan mount out of the chassis.

5. The fan assembly is mounted with four rubber mounts that protrude through

the plastic mounting bracket and the fan housing. Remove the fan assembly

by pulling the rubber mounts back through the holes in the fan housing.

6. Pull the rubber mounts loose from the mounting bracket. New rubber mounts

might come with the new fan.

7. Install the rubber mounts back into the mounting bracket.

8. Install the new fan assembly by aligning the rubber mounts in the mounting

bracket with the holes in the fan housing and pulling the rubber mounts

through the holes with your fingers.

9. Reinstall the fan mounting bracket into the chassis.

10. Reconnect the fan cable, power switch or LED cable, and temperature sensor

cable to the system board. See “System board connectors” on page 153.

11. Go to “Completing the FRU replacement” on page 179.
