Replacing the rear fan assembly
This procedure describes how to remove and replace the system fan.
1. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the cover” on page 117.
2. Note the routing of the rear fan cable to the system board. Disconnect the rear
fan cable from the system fan connector on the system board. See “System
board connectors” on page 116.
3. The fan assembly is mounted with four rubber mounts that protrude through
the rear of the chassis. Remove the fan assembly by pulling the rubber mounts
back through the chassis.
